How do I decide on the best career path?

Academy of Learning College Toronto has introduced several new programs to complement its well established business-oriented Diploma and Certificate programs. These choices provide students with a wide variety of options for future career upon graduation. Meet with an Admissions Representative and discuss your skills, aptitudes, interests and goals. Together you will be able to determine the optimal education program to meet your career aspirations.

How often do Certificate and Diploma programs start?

Enrollment for any traditional Academy of Learning College programs is continuous, which allows students to begin their studies immediately. Selected specialized programs such as Medical Office Assistant (MOA), Health Unit Coordinator, Community Service Worker and Personal Support Worker do have established start dates due to classroom set-ups for lecturing purposes. Several start dates are woven into students’ schedules to maximize the efficient use of their time and combine the classroom with the more independent Academy method of instruction.

How can I pay for my courses?

Courses may be paid for on an individual basis or by pre-payment of the total amount of the Certificate or Diploma program. Academy of Learning College accepts all major debit and credit cards, and well as cheques, money orders as well as cash payments. Federal and Provincial financial assistance in the form of student loans and grants may be available to qualified students, learn more about financial assistance options.

What are Admission Requirements?

General admission requirements include a Grade 12 diploma (or equivalent), or Mature Student status. In addition, a satisfactory command of the English language and the ability to work with the Integrated Learning™ System are necessary. All applicants must attend an initial interview and receive a positive recommendation for admission. Foreign students who are not Canadian citizens or permanent residents must obtain a Study Permit to legally study in Canada. Additional admission requirements may exist for certain specialized Certificate and Diploma programs.

I work part-time, is the course schedule flexible?

The Academy of Learning College’s Integrated Learning™ System gives students the freedom to customize their schedules to suit other factors in their lives. Flextime scheduling allows each individual to choose the most convenient times to learn, including weekdays, evenings and Saturdays, subject to workstation availability and College hours of operation. Some specialized Diploma programs have set hours for portions of the course which are instructor-led. This means that some course hours are fixed. College representatives can provide you with more information on these programs.

Will Academy of Learning College get me jobs?

Legally we are not allowed to guarantee any students jobs upon completion of program.

We however work with our students to assist them throughout the program and even after graduation,  working with our office staff and employment services centres in order to help our graduates start work. In some cases some require experience before  an employer can hire them.  AOLC will facilitate the process, by working with our partners to find the student a voluntary placement before landing a paid job.
